Welcome to Our Online Home...

The Helen J. Stamm Trust is a civil rights coalition serving the disabled in Northern Colorado.  We offer free support for those in our community who self-advocate in housing, health care and the judicial system.

We provide issues papers summarizing Titles I, II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Housing Act summaries and discussions, synopses of HIPPA and related issues to those engaging in self-advocacy.

Example of our services:  a letter to a landlord who has refused to accommodate a disabled tenant by installing a security light at his own expense.

Mediation with a landlord who does not understand his need to permit an assistive animal in no pet housing.

Mediation with a medical specialty clinic trying to terminate a disabled person's care-- invoking Title III of the ADA.

Advocating for a nursing home resident with a sleep disorder regarding the need to be housed alone, seeking accommodation in setting aside Medicaid guidelines in compliance with the ADA.

Filing motions with the Court for a housebound disabled client, requesting reasonable accommodation of impaired mobility and the need to take a plea in absentia.

Contact us at stammtrust@yahoo.com for information and help.

Colorado's own Freedom Riders at the 2009 Presidential Inaugural.  The Helen J. Stamm Trust believes that Freedom is for everyone-- freedom from fear, coercion, stress, marginalization and loneliness.  We must all ride the valiant horse of our civil rights, heads held high.  Come out of hiding and join us!

Don't Go It Alone!

We understand how deplorably difficult it is to stand up to a provider around your civil rights.

You don't have to hang yourself out to dry, and you don't have to live in fear that if you speak up, you will lose.
